The 15th Tashkent International Tourism Fair completed in the capital of Uzbekistan. The event, organized by Uzbektourism national company, attracted more than 200 companies from 25 states.

A press conference devoted to the forthcoming 15th anniversary Tashkent International Tourist Fair (TITF-2009) "Tourism on the Silk Road" was held in Tashkent on 19 October. The fair will take place in the Uzbek capital on 21-22 October.

The exhibition of restored paintings has opened at the Karakalpak state arts museum named after Igor Savitsky.

On 18 October, the Day of Samarkand was being celebrated. On this day in 1996, President Islam Karimov presented the Amir Temur order to the city and proposed marking this date as the Day of Samarkand every year.
