 Ak-Sarai Palace
The palace built by Temur's grandly conceived plan should become the second to none by its grandeur. Ak-Sarai Palace is obvious evidence of the city's former glory. Some of the artifacts that have been preserved from Ak-Sarai Palace are unsurpassed masterpieces of ornamental mosaic. An inscription on the portal of palace states in large letters: “If you doubt our power and might, take a look at our constructions!”
 


One of the palace's wonders is a khauz (water pool) arranged on the roof of the palace with a picturesque water cascade pouring down from the roof.

 Dorus-Siadat Memorial Complex
Dorus-Siadat means “Container of Power”. It was in 1376 that Temur's beloved son Jahongir passed away at the age of 22 after a horse riding accident. It is said that the ruler never smiled again.

A mausoleum was built at his grave site and its beautiful cupola ceiling, offset by whitewashed walls, underline the sanctity of the place. Temur ultimately decided to make Dorus-Siadat a vast family burial site. The burial vault and sarcophagus constructed

 Doruttilyavat Complex (House of Thought)
The complex included the burial vaults, mosque and medressah. Its construction was completed under the ruler of Temur's grandson — the popular scientists and astronomer Ulugbek.

 Kok-Gumbaz Mosque
Kok-Gumbaz means “Blue Dome”. Ulugbek himself designed the construction of this blue-domed mosque, erected in honour of his father Shahrukh. With its 46 meters the cupola is even higher than that of the Bibi-Khanum Mosque in Samarkand.
