President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received President of the Asian Development Bank Haruhiko Kuroda at Oqsaroy residence in Tashkent on 16 February.
Welcoming the head of ADB, President Karimov said that Uzbekistan was actively cooperating with many international financial institutions, and that ties with ADB were especially important for the country.

09.02.2010569th anniversary of Alisher Navoi marked
The 569th anniversary of Alisher Navoi was marked on 9 February with a traditional ceremony at the National Park of Uzbekistan, which bears the name of the great poet and thinker.
Poets and writers, scientists, teachers, students, representatives of culture and art spheres, government and public organizations, as well as foreign diplomats took part in the ceremony.
The participants, among them State Advisor to the President H.Sultanov, Vice Prime Minister A.Aripov and hokim (mayor) of Tashkent A.Tukhtayev, laid flowers to the monument of Alisher Navoi.

History of UzbekistanUzbekistan has rich history that dates back to the depth of millennia. As archeologists witness, it is one of the most ancient places inhabited by humans whose age exceeded 1 million years.
